Chris Kelly Studio

My oil paintings and acrylics are based on the Golden Ratio and Fibonacci sequence.  I begin each artwork with a grid pattern and I strive for an asymmetrical balance between the shapes and colors, while the variations in line and texture add movement to each piece.  I have also started incorporating the Silver Ratio which adds another layer of meaning and complexity - the Golden Ratio comes from the Western artistic tradition and the Silver has been used in artworks from various traditions from Asia, so I see my process as a combination of East and West.
